wow it's been nearly 3 years since I've used this thing. It's changed so much I don't even know how to use it anymore. Anyways, if you want to keep up with what's been going on with me, please look me up on Facebook and/or MySpace and add me as a friend. The only thing keeping me from deleting Xanga is that a few people on my friends list still update.

Take care.

That damn California DMV. So I've lived in Washington almost a year now. I did all the stuff I needed to do to get a Washington driver license and license plates for my car back in January/February, only to get a renewal notice for my car tabs from California back in June. I did exactly what the California DMV said and sent them the renewal notice back with a note that I registered the car in another state. Well I guess somewhere along the line there was a breakdown in communication. I just got a "past due" notice and now they think I owe them past due registration fees plus late charges. Ugh....

Amazingly enough, record flooding has hit the Seattle area. Fortunately our home wasn't hit that hard since we're on high ground and not right next to any rivers. But my work was another story. I made the mistake of parking near a storm drain in the morning. By lunch time my car was up to the rims in water. I went out to move it and ended up with water-logged shoes. Our parking lot at work and the shopping center next door had huge rivers flowing through. As bad as all that sounds, most cities and towns closer to Seattle (including us in Renton) were fortunate that our biggest problem was a lot of traffic on the freeways and flooded out cars; a lot of the more outlying areas got hit pretty hard and many people were forced to evacuate.

Election Day today...get out there and vote!

New pics from Halloween on the Yahoo Pictures: http://photos.yahoo.com/brianfhernandez

It's once again raining in Seattle....hasn't rained this much since February. Yes Seattle is known for its rain, but we had a really nice, sunny spring and summer. Guess we're gonna have to get used to the rain again. At least it's not staying below freezing temperatures during the day anymore, but that'll change soon....

Yes I am actually Xanga-ing twice in the same weekend!

Thanks again to everyone for your kind words. It truly means a lot to me. I wish I could stay in touch with some of my old friends from UCI, but unfortunately I didn't get many phone numbers or email addresses before I left SoCal, and being 1,000 miles away from anyone that knows anyone, I guess this is the only way I can communicate with some of you guys. So, thanks again.

Random memory

For some weird reason this one popped into my head a few minutes ago. A few years ago, when I still worked at Disneyland, I passed this girl who was struggling with a big purse walking past the timeclock/security gate (Harbor Pointe, for those who know Disneyland backstage). I thought nothing of it and walked past her to the parking lot shuttle. I got on the shuttle and sat down, and this girl got on the shuttle right as it was about to leave. She said "Sorry guys!" to everyone on the shuttle. I thought her voice sounded familiar and I stared at her intently for a few minutes before I realized who she was. It was Jennie Kwan from the 90's teen sitcom "California Dreams."

Speaking of the 90's, a Seattle radio station is hosting a concert next month featuring Boyz II Men, Sir-Mix-A-Lot, and Tone Loc. Reminded me of the time Tone Loc performed a free show at UCI's Wayzgoose (2002, I think) and everyone was waiting for him to do his two big songs, "Funky Cold Medina" and "Wild Thing."
